How can I install a Belkin N USB Wireless Adapter on my Ubuntu desktop?
I also recently got one and want to start using it. I am waiting for belkin support to get back to me also, and the box itself does say on the bottom “Mac OSX and the mac logo are trademarks of apple inc” except there is no logo or mention of osx anywhere else on the box or packaging.
It does not use the built-in Airport software, and is less robust.
I installed it and it worked the first time — although I did need to switch off Tx Burst mode in the Advanced settings, and turn off IP6 in the Network System Preference.
I also found out the ralink chipset is the RTL, if anyone has anymore info to add then please do so but at least im closer to a driver knowing they will release one. Well first time i post on a forum on adaptrr web for my life I presume that you have the uk model, or the Belkin driver should work. This site is not responsible for what they say. Overall, performance is a bit odd – it seems to have really bad latency – nothing will happen for 10 sec, then suddenly everything comes through at once.

So if you’re connecting to anything besides the most typical WiFi setups, you will probably have to fiddle with it a lot.
The software is a bit confusing as it always forgets the PSK or WEP key when you open the prefs, but it seems it does actually remember it. There are drivers for Macworld MacUser iPhone Central.
